Hyphenated techniques for speciation analysis. Status and trends.

Abstract

A review with 34 refs. The state-of-the-art of hyphenated (coupled) techniques applied to speciation anal. of metals and metalloids is discussed. Particular attention is given to recent and prospective developments at each stage of the anal. procedure; element-selective detection, high-resoln. sepn., interfacing of chromatog. and at. spectroscopy, and sample presentation to the coupled system. Advances in sample prepn. are highlighted. Areas of application are discussed in terms of individual elements and materials for which information on speciation is essential. [on SciFinder(R)]
