Entre Reconnaissance et création : Le cas d'Elizabeth Madox Roberts

Abstract : In Elizabeth Madox Roberts‘ works (1881-1941), the notion of acknowledgement is deeply entrenched in the self. Far from the grandiloquence of a quest to be known as a writer, Roberts is motivated by a true concern for uprightness and her devotion to authenticity surpasses her desire for recognition. Just like her characters, the notion of acknowledgement encompasses a true respect for values. Her writings portray her own experience and observations of rural ways in her native Kentucky and read like a socio-historical representation with a documentary line.
