Abstract : Soft packaging is crucial in food industries. Packages are essential in products protection and currently polymers films are the most suitable materials in this domain. Thus, multi-layered films are designed to provide all necessary properties. Packages have an increasing marketing role as new designs attract more customers. Being able to modify the shape of the packaging without additional cost becomes therefore a necessity. In this article, a new welding process that allows design change in packaging without any additional cost is presented and a simulation tool is proposed for studying the temperature history of the films depending on the various process parameters and material properties. A comparision with experimental thermal measurement is proposed, and numerical results analyzed to highlight the influence of some parameters on the thermal history of the films while sealing
