Robust obstacle reconstruction in an elastic medium

Abstract : We study the inverse problem of the reconstruction of an obstacle in an elastic media from boundary measurements. We assume that the data is noised and that a statistical model for the data is at hand. We propose and study a reconstruction algorithm based a weighted combination of the first two moments of the Kohn-Vogelius criterion. By numerical results in dimension two, the applicability and feasibility of our approach is demonstrated.
