Material for food packaging and method for the preparation thereof

Abstract : A food packaging material comprises a polyolefin, vitamin E, and a Quebracho wood ext. comprising condensed tannins, the material comprising at least 0.1​% by wt. of condensed tannins relative to the wt. of the food packaging material. A typical material is prepd. by extruding at 160° a compn. contg. 97.5 wt.​% isotactic polypropylene PP 1014, 2.375 wt.​% Vitamin E and 0.125 wt.​% a Quebracho wood ext. contg. 85 wt.​% tannins.
