Hydrodynamique d'une nappe liquide formée à la sortie d'un convergent
Abstract
We are interested in the hydrodynamics of a vertical liquid sheet that forms at the exit of a converging nozzle of rectangular cross-section. The targeted application is the coating process of paper or wood to manufacture composite panels. In order to obtain a uniform steady coating, it is necessary to identify the stability properties of the curtain flow employed. Thus, from a literature review, the relevant parameters that are controlling the different flow regimes are recalled. The first experimental observations obtained on a dedicated test facility support the results obtained from a shape model describing the (non-guided) liquid sheet resulting from such inertia-gravity driven flows.
