The Photoelectron Spectrum of Thioformyl Cyanide
Résumé
Thioformyl cyanide, HCSCN, was generated, under flash vacuum thermolysis conditions, by retro-ene and retro-Diels-Alder cleavages of allylcyanomethyl sulfide and 3-cyano-2-thiabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene, respectively, and unambiguously characterized in the gas phase by photoelectron spectroscopy. Its unimolecular decomposition into carbon monosulfide and hydrogen cyanide was found to be strongly disfavored. © 1993, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
