Synthesis and Characterization of Iodo Derivatives of Bis-salphen Complexes

Abstract : Two new iodo derivatives of bis-salphen zinc complexes [salphen = N,N’-bis(salicylideneimine)-1,2-diaminobenzene] have been synthesized and fully characterized. The 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, UV-Vis, TGA, elemental analysis and MALDI mass spectral data of these complexes are presented. In addition, X-Ray single crystal diffraction analysis of complex 1 has been recorded. These two compounds present a great potential interest for generating 2D covalent organic nanoarchitecture.
